Call your cable company and have them test your modem for drop outs and packet loss. I had a toshiba cable modem start doing the same thing and the packet loss was over 25% at times.
Time Warner came out, tested the line ok. Put in a new modem and no issues since.
It should be noted my cable modem was 5+ years old when it started to fail.
