Passive play? Yes, that struck me, too, at first. But remember how small the blinds are. Except for the pitiful shortstack, the players' stacks are 20x or 50x the blinds for most of the action.
In such a situation, you can wait a long time for that wonderful chance to double through someone with a killer hand. Basically that's what hero did. He waited out the SB until he got A7 all in vs. A5. And he waited out the big stack until he got AJ all in vs. KJ. He won em both, and after that, it was mostly mopping up.
If the blinds were higher, waiting that long would be deadly. And if A7 had met a tougher hand or a harsher board, someone else would be posting the winner's history.
But, hey, there are hundreds of players saying "if, if, if," and one guy who won it. Interesting history. Glad it all worked out.
