Default Re: Hard Rock, Hollywood, FL (general questions)

I got a pm from a regular there, so to help anyone that does a search on this subject in the future here's his excellent response:

================================================== ========

The hardrock is a great place for the wife. Alot to do there. Tons of bars and restaurants etc... Now on to the poker.

I assume your aware they only spread 1-2 & 2-2. They do spread Omaha hi/lo but I dont know how many tables. There are over 100 tables in this place and I never see anyone waiting long so I assume they are seating everyone very quickly. It is a hi-tech room, with computerized pagers so you dont have to stand around waiting for your name to be called. I just cannot give you any insight into the limit games because i dont play them, I like much larger stakes so I stick to the tourneys. I do know the limit play is extremely loose. Compares to the micro limit tables on a online site. Expect 6-8 people in every hand. Rumor has it they will have high stakes poker by Jan 2006.

The tourneys are great. They range from $45-$2000 S&G's. They are starting as soon as a list fills up, and the lists fill up very quick. It is a packed and busy poker room. All the S&G's are no limit. I play the $250-$2000 tourneys so I can only comment on them. Many Many regulars with a nice influx of tourists. Many of the regulars have deep pockets and very little poker skills. You can pick out the sharks pretty quickly. The regulars range from weak tight to weak aggressive. They will bluff frequently. They go allin when holding JJ or AK. They hate to be bullied and will whine when you keep stealing their blinds. It is also very common to chop at the end, just make sure it is fair for yourself.

The blinds in the S&G's start at 25-50 and double every 15 minutes. Except they include 150-300 & 300-600 level. So they do move pretty quick but all tables have auto shufflers so it speeds things up a bit.

Dealers are great there, they are short on dealers so you see the same faces all the time and they are very experienced and friendly. They do however get way overtipped and now expect it all the time from everyone. So if you dont tip well after a S&G you will get snubbed but waht the hell.

Multi Table Tourneys: Between the HardRock and Seminole Casino which is only 2 blocks away they have MTT's every day , twice a day. They range from $50 to $500. Here is the HR schedule, I dont have seminoles.

Mondays 11am $80+20 3000 chips w/ a $5 toke the dealer rebuy for 500 units

Monday 6:30 pm 250+50 freezeout
Tuesdays 6:30 120+30
Fridays 11am 120+30
Saturdays 165+35 4000 chips
Saturday Nov 12th 11 am $500+75 5000 chips

They have schedules all over the poker room.

Hope this helps.
