I've played my weak-ace steals in a very similar fashion, but I'm always stuck on what to do on the river if they bet. It seems that most of the time, if they bet the river, they're value-betting my ass with their pocket deuces and I lose the pot. I know I only need to be ahead about 1 in 4 times to call, but I don't know that I'm winning 25% of the time to their river bets.

Is calling the river here completely read-dependent? Good because people know they can't boss you off a hand with ace-high? Bwah?
