Default Illustrative example of your idea

This hand comes from later in the same session as OP. The Villain from the previous hand has left and we are now 5-handed. The new Villain is the maniac I previously mentioned.

A feature of this maniac is that he sometimes takes free cards with weak made hands in spots where he would bluff an unmade hand. Thus his flop check seems problematic but I'm not sure what it means in this situation.

10/20 6-max (5-handed)

Hero is BB with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

Preflop: Button raises, Hero 3-bets, Button calls

Flop (6.5 SB): 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Both check.

Turn (3.25 BB): 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls.

River (5.25 BB) Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls.
