Default Re: Caesars WSOP Circuit event report ( As requested by Steamboatin)

Well, part of the problem with Caesars Indiana, is the Casino itself.

Don't get me wrong here, the poker staff is super, but upper management still pretty much treats the poker room, as the stepchild of the Casino, and thus by default it's players, as 2nd class citizens of the Casino.

As I mentioned in another thread in this forum, as a player, you can't get reduced rate hotel rooms based on your play in the poker room, NOR can you use your playing time, to accumulate comps for the resturants (with the exception of the snack bar) in the Casino, like you can at most other Poker Rooms.

I mean unless you were staying for 7 days or more, you couldn't get the $79.99 WSOP Circuit event special rate, and had to pay the full rack rate of $149.99 (both rates are before taxes).

In addition, as mentioned, the dealers do NOT get to keep their tips, but must share them not only with each OTHER, but also with ALL dealers in the Casino, regardless of the game being dealt.

The Dealers are also not allowed, to play in the games either themselves, during their off times.

Until the Belterra opened up THIER room this past summer, these dealers had to drive 2 hours each way to play at the Altazar in Evensville Indiana if they wanted to play.

By contrast, Belterra, which is IMO, the best Casino in the region, BAR NONE, goes out of it's way to make their patrons feel welcome and loved, and that carries over to their poker room as well.

While Belterra's poker room is quite small, unless something else major is going on in the area (such as the WSOP Circuit events), most times all their tables are full, they spread all kinds of games and levels, and they have a list.

Not only that, but I have heard they treat their dealers really good there.

Their tips are their own to keep for starters, the ONLY casino in the area, that does that for their Poker Dealers I might add.

I think it all boils down to the fact, that unlike Tunica, where the compitition is fierce for the gambling dollar, here in the Gambling/Poker Desert of Ohio/Indiana/Kentucky, the casino's don't have to work as hard, since they don't have as many casinos in the region to compeat against.
