Default Great Play That Worked-Out Perfect (funny too)

I played in a few of the Fall Festival Tourneys at the Golden Nugget. They are pretty good, around 30 entrants, $100 buy-in with an add-on and rebuy. In three tries I pulled 2- 5th place finishes (just in the money) and the other I made the final table.

There was one play that I have to share:

It is probably 10-minutes into the tourney; some guy and his chick enter in late. This jerk comes walking up to the table wearing a full suit (I have no problems with that), holding a big to-go box of food and reading Card Player Magazine. He fires everyone a kind-of scornful look, someone welcomes him and he gives a no-reply. He sits in the first seat to my left in the BB. He hasn't even pulled his chair up and the table has folded around to the button who also folds, leaving just me and him. It was perfect....

I had pocket aces. I look up and ask the stupid question "is it just me and the big blind?" and I get the stupid answer from the dealer "yep". Then I announce, "well then I guess I am all-in".

He insta-calls with a suited ace. Needless to say he had to take his wallet back out before he could even sit on to re-buy.

Later on I stretched out and accidentally hit his foot and then apologized. In a real tough-guy tone he says "just don't let it happen again".

The whole table had a little snicker.

Just thought I would share a funny story of aces holding up. [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
