Default Re: Very taboo. What do I do?

[ QUOTE ]
The dealer pushes the pot to you. You never reach out and drag the pot in a casino. If you want to see a dealer get excited, just reach out and try to drag that pot.

[/ QUOTE ]

Good! You got half my point. Perhaps I need to write more clearly so that everyone gets the other half.

I've never tried pulling the pot myself, but my intuition is that you're correct, that this would be a Very Bad Thing. Similarly, i'm entitled to see mucked cards in certain circumstances -- e.g., show one show all (players, not show both cards). But reaching in and looking on my own is also a Very Bad Thing.

The dealer in the OP's game thought players pulling out mucked cards was no big deal. That dealer is poor at his or her job. I was writing in response to a post saying the dealer did the right thing, but that post I was replying to was wrong. The dealer did not do the right thing. The right thing is to point out this violation of rules and etiquette so that the offender can never again claim ignorance at that room.

Hence my (failed) attempt at an analogy, replete with confusing rhetorical questions to obfuscate as much as possible.
