That's an interesting question. I do think he should have slowed down a little sooner. When I call fourth street, that has to look at least a little scary. I'm not calling a paired door card in a smallish pot without a little something. I had only played against this guy a couple of times, so he may not have realized that Kings-up is about the minimum hand I can have here. There were at least five players in that game who would have checked to me on fifth street.

Having gotten to the river, the pot's big enough that he almost has to call, but he can't like it. There's little point in betting. I'm not calling without having Tens-up beaten, and it's very unlikely that I've gotten this far with a worse hand anyway. I think the only play is to chicken call. In order to fold, he'd have to be more than 90% sure he was beaten, and I'm rarely 90% sure about much of anything.
