I actually had the same idea the other day.
They wouldn't have to make any programming changes though, they would just need to add items to the FPP store.
They can add an item that results in a 10 dollar red cross contribution and "sell" it for 100 points. Of course they add other denominations as well so you don't need to buy a hundred donations of a hundred dollars.
I think it's an excellent idea personally.
