Thanks for feedback everyone much appreciated.
I'm new to NL ring, having come from the 6-max limit side of things the last 200000 hands. In limit I'da never called a raise from the BB with 42s, but in NL i'da thought the implied odds from hitting a nice hand with suited connectors would help make up for calling the raise. Here's similar situation from earlier tonight:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (5 handed)
converter
SB ($26.30)
Hero ($30.85)
UTG ($25.25)
MP ($27.50)
Button ($13.55)
Preflop: Hero is BB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">
2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to $0.75</font>, SB calls $0.65, Hero calls $0.50.
Flop: ($2.25) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
SB checks, Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">Button bets $2</font>, SB calls $2, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $8</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to $12.8</font>, SB folds, Hero calls $4.80.
Turn: ($29.85) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
River: ($29.85) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Final Pot: $29.85
Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
Hero has 2c 4c (flush, ace high).
Button has Jd Jc (one pair, jacks).
Outcome: Hero wins $29.85. </font>
But if folding pre-flop is the +EV thing to do in times like this then I'll start doing it.
Thx... BB
