Default Re: Disciplin

If you are having trouble quiting for the day, you probably have a compulsive gambling problem. Discipline largely relates to throwing away junk hands and getting away from good hands that are beat. Almost all players struggle with this lack of discipline. But the lack of discipline you are talking about, of not being able to pull yourself away from the table and leave the casino, sounds more like a compulsive gambling problem then a lack of discipline. There is a big difference.

I suggest that you quit playing all together, at least for a month, one day at a time. If you can't do that, consider that you may have a problem.

The best way to deal with compulsive behavior is to go cold turkey. This way you don't have to control the behavior as much as simply avoiding it. Schedule some time with family or doing other activities that you enjoy. Stay away from the casino.

Also, consider joining a self help group or seeking individual or group counseling. Compulsive behavior is often a symptom of a larger need. I know this isn't easy, but for your own personal growth, financial well-being, and happiness, dealing with any potential issues is much preferrable to not considering the possibility.

Best wishes and let me know how it goes.
