Do you think that this (this being that confederate flag = guaranteed perception of racism by non-white people) is the position that anybody is supporting, or do you think that people just think that the majority of the time the Confederate flag is displayed, it connotes certain things about its bearer's racial attitudes?

I'm guessing the latter argument is the one most people here are making, since it certainly makes more sense. It's also one that other than your poll argument - where you never explicitly stated what the poll question being answered was, so those helpful "facts" you presented are lacking the context, context, CONTEXT!!! you've been ranting about elsewhere - you've done nothing to really dispel, in my opinion.
