Default Re: Aficionado\'s Of Poker Chips, Kem\'s, Copaq\'s.

I do actually play poker. I have midline chips and nice cards, and they're definitely worth their cost.

The purely practical reason for having at least casino-style size and weight chips is they stack and count easier, which lets you get more hands in. Decent plastic cards stay flat, unmarked, and play well longer and misdeal less, again letting you get more hands in. The difference between playing with 3 decks of Copags and decent chips rather than a deck of bowed airline giveaways and Bicycle chips or cash is I'd say at least 10 hands an hour. That's enough for a second round, enough to get you over a bad run of cards, etc., i.e. money in my pocket.

I have to say the chip obsession thing sometimes amazes me too although I'm kinda excited about the Pharaoh's buy.

Good cards are essential though. People kinda laughed when I brought Kems around and said "These are what the pros play with"... next week though it was all "Did you bring those cards?"
