Yes. At first I was distressed by the 8 on the turn, but I thought it was very unlikely he would raise pf and bet the flop with a gutshot draw. The only plausible hands I'm behind are TT or AA. This assumes he's not tricky or maniacal enough to raise with 66, 77, 88, 99, or 89. Most of those hands would have pushed on the flop, anyway.

Anyway, I figure I'm not going to fold if he pushes, and he could call with plenty of losing hands, so I push and he calls. River is a blank, and he shows...

His river call wasn't that bad, since he had 3 outs to win and 8 outs to split, and was getting 4:1 odds to call.
