I have a treadmill I use 5 times a week. Going to the gym may be cheaper but the time needed to travel to and from the gym is more valuable to me than the savings. If you are serious about this and keep up regular exercise it will be worth it. Of course, as others have noted, many people buy these things and keep them in the corner gathering dust.
