Default Re: capping with AK out of position BTF

[ QUOTE ]
What is the reason to to cap with AK(s) out of position against 1, 2 or more opponents, before the flop?

I'd like to hear everyone's opinion on each of these situations, thanks in advance.

The other replies are right in that it's mostly for value. But I would do this even heads up where it's no longer so clear that it's for value. The other two big reasons are because it makes the hand easier to play postflop and for deception purposes. That is, you don't want people to think that your preflop cap in the blinds always means AA/KK/QQ/JJ. You want them to have some doubt as to what you have. A side effect of this is that when you do have AA/KK/QQ/JJ, you'll make more money with those hands.
