Default Re: Vanguard Investment - Need Advice?

[ QUOTE ]
Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund: 50%
Vanguard Asset Allocation Fund: 25%
Vanguard Total International Stock Index Fund: 15%
Vanguard Total Bond Market Index Fund: 10%

Basically your looking at 75% US stocks, 15% International and 10% Bonds.

I would throw it into the S&P 500 index fund (VFINX) or the Total Stock Market index fund (VTSMX). The TSM fund gives you a modest coverage of medium and smaller companies, as opposed to just tracking the 500 largest companies.

If you want some money in international marktets or bonds, just add a second fund. Keep in mind Vanguard charges $10/year for any index funds with balances less than $10,000.

Good luck.
