Default Re: A8s, loose game, flops 2 pair

[ QUOTE ]
Your flop play is good. When you decide to bet into a preflop raiser to protect your hand, you have to know

1. That there's a good chance he'll raise
2. That when he raises, there's a good chance he's rasing something you beat (or have a reasonable chance to beat).

Both of these are true in this case. nh.

Edit: Except for preflop.

How does Hero know that UTG+1 wil raise. He said He "hoped" that player would raise; not that his notes indicated an aggression level indicative of villain making an auto-raise. On this board I think it is quite possible that UTG+1 will just call as will everyone behind him.

If that were likely to the case, I would just as soon try to pump the pot and take advantage of my immediate pot equity edge. The best way to do that IMO is to check-raise the flop. It is much more likely that UTG+1 will autobet when checked to than that he will auto-raise a donkbet (plus I doubt, even if UTG+1 for some reaosn does not bet, that this flop gets checked through altogether).

Here, Hero got lucky in that UTG+1 cooperated and Hero was able to three-bet (which is awesome BTW).
