How about option 4: over-aggressive, not particularly good player?
Preflop: Folds to him in mid-position, raises to steal the blinds, then calls the raises that come behind him.
Flop: Tries to press his bluff, representing strength by raising preflop capper, then calls the raises behind him because the pot has gotten so big.
Turn: Picks up a flush draw in addition to his gutshot and raises to get more money in the pot.
River: Makes top pair and overvalues his hand.
