Default Chip samples arrived

I just got my chip samples in today. Got them the same day as my NexGen samples. Here's my first impression:

Nice! They seem to be close to the quality of some real casino coin inlaid chips that I have in my collection. When you pick them up, they feel very light weight (compared to the NexGen chips that is). The chips themselves are a bit slippery when stacked. I put a stack of the 7 different color samples on a table and bumped the table. They did not stay together. So if you're big into stacking you won't like them as much.

Overall though, the quality of the chips are decent. I noticed though, when I held these chips up to a bright light that I could see through a couple of them on the colored parts. The orange and pink chips especially. You could see the injection part inside the chip.

The sound is good too. When splashed it does not have a metalic click like the 11.5g cheapos out there. I compared them to an actual Lady Luck $2.50 chip I have and the quality and feel are almost identical. Nice job whoever makes em.

After comparing them to the NexGen chips, it was a hard choice to choose between them. I ended up ordering the NexGens though. Reason: I like the colors better on the NexGen, they stack better, I didn't like denominations cuz I like flexibility to choose.

My poker group primarily plays 0.25, 0.50 and 1.00 games but I couldn't envision having a set of mostly pink, grey and purple chips. Sure, I could have ordered the $25 green, 50c grey and $100 black and pretend the $ was cents but heh, I liked the NexGens better.

Definitely worth looking at if you are a fan of coin inlaid chips. Overall a good weight and feel, albeit a bit slippery. Some of the edges were a bit rough due to manufacturing process but they were able to be smoothed with a fingernail.

Anyone else examine these yet?

Also noticed that 5stardeal had a set of 500 you can order now. Bet more sets will be available soon.
