the 6max chart from a 2+2 poster (link not to hand) shows to fold some hands after limpers but to open with them. it makes perfect sense and i think you're right on the explanation.
hands like KTo on the button is the easiest openraise ever, but if a limper is in it's the easiest fold ever (assuming the limper isn't 100/0/0).
