Re: reinstalled windows and having trou;le with second monitor
Try moving the mouse off the other edges of the monitor. If one edge takes you to the other screen but it isn't the one you want, go back into Display Properties/Settings and drag the screens numbered 1 and 2 into the correct arrangement.
