That sucks. I like the hidden outs point. A lower Ace, i thought, would either 1) raise preflop or 2) be intimidated by my pre-flop raise. I thought it unlikely that neither case would apply.

One point. just now, I raised preflop with A9s in the bb against a button limper. An ace floped and the button raised me. I checked raised the turn and he folded. <u>Perhaps some players think that only a pp would raise in the bb and therefore raise when an ace flops.</u>

This guy however seemed pretty passive. Like I mentioned before, he just called down middle pair previously. There was no flop check raise or anything like that. Another time he had the option of check raising a draw on the turn and chose to just call. And he wasn't winning more than his share of hands at the table. I didn't think him a likely candidate to be bluffing.
