Default 88 from MP3- call two pushes behind me?

At first I thought this was a pretty basic hand but the more I think about it the more I think it wasn't as easy a decision as I thought.

Late in a 5+1 on Party, top 140 paid, 100 or so left. Blinds are 500/1000.

Table has been pretty tight overall, with most hands being taken down by the initial raiser preflop.

Relevant stack sizes:
Hero (20,000)
CO (12,500)
BB (6,500 after posting)

Hero is in MP3 with 88. 5 folds. Hero raises to 3400. CO (who has been very aggressive in selective spots to pick up chips) pushes and the BB calls. Hero...

My thinking was that the CO's range was pretty wide, lets say 66 and up and KJ and up, as I had seen him make a similar play earlier with a pretty marginal hand. The BB, who hadn't played a hand in several orbits, was pretty much your basic TAG. If I call and lose I have a little less than 8000 left and am well below the average. The 2nd push had me thinking that best case scenario was that I was up against one underpair and two overcards but that one overpair was more likely.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as this hand had me pretty confused.
