Suppose an average player raises from MP
An average player who open-raises from MP is raising with a good hand. If you knew it was a loose-agressive type who might be raising mediocre hands for a chance to steal the blinds you could call more. In general, I fold all of these to a MP raise in front of me, since most of them don't have great high card strength and the SB will have the worst position.

With 3 players in front of me the BB is sure to come along. i'm calling with the hands that do well multiway and don't require good position to play well (broadway suited for flush / nut straight draws or pairs for trips value):

A8s+, KTs+,
QJs, QTs, JTs
22-99
AJo, KQo
