I think SB most likely makes this move with a monster. He is not afraid of giving you the free card on the turn because he holds AK and figures you may fold to his bet so he mixes it up. If he is indeed raising you with a worse hand he gets 2.75:1 on a fold and may have a couple outs on the river if you call.

Consider this:

1) No read, but not many players 3-bet an UTG raiser from the SB.
2) If you are indeed ahead, what is your turn bet going to accomplish? Will villain call you down with KQ, QQ-99?
