After all, he raised UTG PF, then after you showed strength (re-raising) and BB showed strength (calling EP raiser and re-raiser) he calls. Then he bets into 3 players -- 2 who have position on him. Possibly he's weak and overplayed 2 lower clubs or foolishly bluffs into 3 other players who all showed some strength, but if he did, just tip your hat to him and move on.
