Well, I didn't know for sure whether the Q gave him the straight. The A and K were showing, and he had two of Q, J, and T. If he held, say, QJ, and I check, he checks behind and I lose a bet. Maybe he doesn't call in that situation, sure, but there's no way I can check here unless I pick up some read (shaking hand, whatever) that tells me that he's made his hand.
