Default Re: Official Indie Starter Kit Thread (Calling all hipsters... sorry euro)

Rough draft of the final list... Im going out for a few hours, are there any major objections? (If not, Ill upload when I get back... btw, if I host it, can I post a link here, or are the legal problems an issue??)

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - Wilco
The Soft Bulletin - The Flaming Lips
OK Computer - Radiohead
Funeral - Arcade Fire
Illinois - Sufjan Stevens
The Moon and Antartica - Modest Mouse
Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain - Pavement
Keep it Like a Secret - Built to Spill
Doolittle - Pixies (+ where is my mind)
I See a Darkness - Bonnie 'Prince' Billy
Kill the Moonlight - Spoon

First 3 seem automatic.

Im hesitant to go with OK Comp over the bends as an intro, but the group disagrees.

Funeral provides a nice combination of awesomeness and Canadian content.

"Illinois. Top some more AOTY lists. Plz" - istewart.

Moon and Antartica seems to be the consensus Modest Mouse album, even if a few (myself included) like LCW more.

I was gonna go with Slantend and Enchanted, but since I dont really like Pavement, I will defer to JoA and go with CRCR.

Ive always thought Perfect From Now On was BTS's most popular, but it appears Im not alone in liking Secret more, so we'll go with that.

Doolittle is awesome, and I'll put in Where is my Mind? for good measure.

Darkness is a personal favourite, and I want to spread the word.

The last 4 spoon albums were mentioned in this thread, and picking one is damn hard. I've always like Moonlight best.

Big leave outs:

Loveless... is it getting dated? I had this in originally.

Oh, Inverted World...he already has shins stuff, otherwise its in.

TOTBL... No real reason not to include it, just, 12 isnt a big number.

GO! Team...too weird, though still amazing

69 Love songs... This isnt mentioned as often as it deserves to be

Source Tags and Codes...would be in my top 12, but perhaps a little too heavy for some.
