As it was pointed out by various countries, organisations, individuals etc. at the time. What is scaring, was how so many Americans fell for it and then reelected Bush (not saying anyone is stupid or something, but it is scary how it is possible to manipulate the sentiment of a nation that way). The most powerful leader/party in the world is not effectively kept under control by the population. It is dysfunctional democracy.
