Default Re: Libs, Dems: What should we do about Miers?

[ QUOTE ]
>>The current Democratic Party's "principles" are issues like gay rights, higher taxes, doing what France wants, and making sure women maintain their legal right to kill babies. These things alienate much of the populous. Do you see why?<<

Clownish beliefs like these are the reason why people like Limbaugh, Coulter, O'Reilly, DeLay, Santorum, and many others are rightly held in contempt and are repugnant to decent, intelligent people.

Do you see why?

The problem is the country is not made up of largely intelligent, decent people. It is made up of largely stupid, decent people. Your party has been hijacked by the fringe and it is extremely weak because of this. You equate "decency" with the belief in a woman's "right" to kill a child before it has the chance to be born. This is not the type of logical position that sells voters on your Party.

I notice you took out the part about Perot. You must realize it is telling that the "great Clinton Presidency" only happened because a reasonably strong third party candidate stepped in and took a chunk of votes away from George Bush.

Your Party has faired poorly for a while because it has lost touch with the core demographic in this country.

You've been hijacked by weaker fringe movements at the expense of movements like labor and the Republicans are laughing all the way to the bank. The Democratic Party is constantly outplayed- they are the the fish at the table.
