Since the vast majority of other players in online games are not even aware of the concept of freerolling, a good rule of thumb to use is that whenever you flop/turn the nuts with *any* redraw, be willing to go to war, and play it aggressively.
There are exceptions (as in playing against a known winning opponent), but it's a good rule of thumb.
