Thanks for the advice guys.

Most of your were right on with your read. I ended up folding, and he showed JJ, one of which being a diamond.

One of my flaws is working too hard to get third when I would get more money overall by taking risks and going for first.

As for this hand, I felt that I was good enough where I could outplay the rest of these people, and hopefully get first or second. I was reasonably sure I had the best hand, and knew that if I didn't I still had outs, but busting in fourth here was not what I wanted to do. The odds told me to call, but I wanted to wait until I was in a more comfortable spot to put my chips in. Folding still left me with a solid amount of chips that I could work with. That was my thinking, although it may not have been right.

I ended up winning the tournament, which doesn't help my "surviving until third" leak. Something I have to work on, I guess.
