In order to get the 2560x1600 resolution you need dual-link dvi. I am not really sure which cards support this but I will tell you memory size isn't the determining factor. The chip the card uses will be. I'm pretty sure the nvidia 7800 series supports it as well as some of the newer ati chips. I'll look into it a little more.
