Did they even have cruise sponsored poker games back then? I think that he's probably talking about a "private" game on a cruise ship.
PS I'm reasonably sure that the games on the large liners are unrigged, but I remember going on a small day cruise (NOT specifically for gambling) out of Miami and we had a dealer change after the first ~ 10 (mostly profitable) hands of blackjack. The new dealer immediately won the next 5 or so hands. I didn't gamble the rest of the cruise.
