This is one of the few "I'm going Pro" posts that actually makes sense. I think playing cards for a living might be tougher than you realize but I am just a low limit hack so my opinion may not be worth much.

You are a grown up and you can do whatever you want. I think most of the "Don't do it" replies are directed at young people that want to quit school or blow off a promising career to play poker for a living.

You have thought about it a lot, the MRS is onboard, you have a contingency plan, you have your insurance covered so I don't see why you shouldn't try it for 3 months. The only problem I see is, Poker might not be as fun when you have to play.
