Default Re: 6 Max SNG\'s

I have been specializing in Crypto's high-stakes 6-max(£130, £215, £320 buy-ins) SNGs they call Sixpaks. The main disadvantage is that they are high-maintenance -- while its relatively standard to play 6-8 table sets of full SNGs, I max out at about 3-4 of these at a time for optimal results. This cuts into hourly wage.

Another key aspect is the 75-25 payout structure. Superior heads-up game tactics are essential in this format. Most people do not focus on heads-up in SNGs, but 1st place is where the money is, and this is a very exploitable flaw if you can make proper adjustments well. They key is to make to heads-up - then you unleash all of the reads you accumulated. It is not as random as most people make it out to be - it can be random if you face a good HU player, but most SNGers suck at HU.

If the heads-up starts early (sometimes 1 guy will take the other 4 out at/before Level 4), you have a chance to probe your opponent for weakness, lie low until blinds get big, and then drop the hammer.
