With no real read, I couldn't figure out if he was badly calling with the naked Ac, or if he had the Jack. I figured a missed flush draw will likely just check behind, while the jack might be willing to call a good-sized river bet when the board pairs, especially if he has an A or K kicker.

Is a check here a smart play? I think it definitely is if a board pairing fourth club hits, but am interested to hear what others think.
