Garland won 1st place and $5,000 in the limit holdem tournament held on 8-15-04 at the Oaks Club in Emeryville, CA.
This is quite an accomplishment, especially considering the field of around 100 entrants and the tough competition he faced during shorthanded play at the end of the tournament (the guys who came in second and third are really strong players).
Way to go Garland!
