I didn't read your entire post, because you ramble even more than I do. All posters thus far have missed the crux of the issue. The guy shows you his cards, and you use this information against him. It's his own damned fault for showing you his cards, so I don't have any particular problem with that, although I think it's nice to warn him at least once, and kind of slimy to pull your cap down and put on your shades. What makes all of this unethical, though, is that you can use this information against the other players, and they have no control over whether the other guy protects his hand or not. People are pretty good about protecting their hands in the games I play in, but I warn people every time they hold their cards so that I can see them. There was a time when I didn't do this, but I have seen the error of my ways.
