I understand that you're trying to be cute, but all you're being is juvenile. I don't know how old you are, but don't you think it's time to get some character?
If the cashier at the grocery store gives you too much change, do you give it back? I bet you say, "Nope, it's their own fault for being so stupid."
The fact that you even posted this question to begin with shows me that you have a little slice of you that knows what you did was wrong. Good. Go with that.
