I understand those arguments and would have done the same myself if I ever played heads up. Never the less, this was my gut reaction (remember, I come from a country, most USA citizens would consider very near socialism).

Also I think there is a risk of cutting yourself of the action. What if he begins to think about why someone is very eager to play him heads up. Maybe he will just pick up and leave.
