Default Re: Cheapest way to get to Vegas from the UK

A quick look at London-Las Vegas fares shows that they're pretty bad - >$1000, which is pretty astonishing. Perhaps it's high holiday-season demand on the UK side?

I'd suggest the following:

If you could fly out of a non-London airport, say Manchester, the fares drop to sub-$700. The same holds if you can fly out of the continent. For example, you might be able to fly BA from Paris to LV for sub-$700 as well. Showing the perversity of airline fares, it's cheaper to fly BA from Paris though London to LV than it is to just take the London to LV segments!

I'd also consider flying London to Phoenix, then catching an America West or Southwest flight to LV. BA flys Heathrow to Phoenix nonstop for ~$620, then add another ~$100 to get you the rest of the way. You could also fly through San Francisco, a much nicer place , for only about $20 more.
