As an affiliate, I think I would benefit from such a forum because it would allow me to post specifically about my affiliate deals (if I cared to). For this reason, I think poster "cubswin" is wrong in thinking that I get more "free advertising" in the current set up.
The reason I voted no is because I don't think these types of forums have worked for other sites. On
www.bet2gamble.com (a very reputable casino site I participate in) for example, some very shady sites (Sports Interaction for example) post info about their affiliate programs in the affiliate forum. It is simply too much work for a forum moderator to check on the legitimacy of each and every program that posts a message/advertisement in the affiliate forum. The result is that a lot of honest people see these posts and end up setting up links for dishonest sites.
It also seems to me that there is a big difference between somebody who spams the forum with a post about their bonus code at Party, and someone who makes legitimate posts and has a signature relating to an affiliate site. Of course I am biased on this particular issue (and if you read my ratemypoo post you may not think my posts are legitimate ), nevertheless I think I make a cogent argument.
