Re: Palms Poker Room
Welcome to the forum.
I had my first B&M experience this past summer at the Palms. The room was very small but I had a good seat along the wall so I wasn't uncomfortable, but I could see that others were.
Considering it was my first time, I thought the 2/4 was definitely beatable. I had a pretty good 6 hour run on a table that was 30-40% local rocks (they told me Palms had good jackpot payouts, which is why they chose to play there). The rest were tourists - some decent, some drunk and clueless. I'd say I was somewhere in between.
Overall the hotel is overrated and overpriced, but its the "hip" place to be and has some good food and drink (and eye candy) so I guess it's worth a shot. Rain, Ghostbar (and even the hotel bar) are def worth a try if you don't mind either paying the bouncers or standing on line. But the casino is nothing special, and the repeating music track can drive a man insane after a day or two.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
