Re: Time/seat charges vs rake
[ QUOTE ]
Having only frequented casinos where they use the rake system, I was wondering if some posters here could enlighten me as to how a time or seat charge works, and what types of casinos employ them (large, small, indian, AC, etc). Is it just a flat rate? Or can someone request that instead of rake? Sorry for the generally noobish question, but I could not find it in the FAQs.

$5/half in 1-2 NL is way too much, as the other poster alluded to. Time charge is usually used in 30/60 games and a lot of NL games, since in 30/60 games and up it's quite annoying for the dealer to have to constantly make change to drop the rake.
One of the best NL games I have seen is the 5/5 NL500 game at Casino Niagara Fallsview, which takes $12/hour in time charge with no rake. Beautiful.
