depends on the game, but there are generally accepted starting hand tables in books such as Small Stakes Hold em (Miller et al), Hold Em Poker For Advanced Players (Skalansky & Malmuth) and many more books. If you look on these forums you can find tables of these starting hands.
I'd also suggest playing tighter on a short bankroll, so drop the marginal hands. You'd like to minimise your variance, so game selection is important, although whether limit or no-limit has least variance is an often argued point.
most important is to not play above your level and to play solid poker (heh...).
