Results and thoughts...
I should have said in the original post, I had 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Not that the suits mattered. Sorry.
George the BB called instantly and showed the 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] for the heartbreaking loss. I was wondering if anyone else gets away losing less with this hand.
On the turn, I was 99% sure George had two hearts in his hand and had busted on the "blank" river. I was comtemplated checking the turn 80% sure one of the aggressive opponents would bet. As it turned out, Gore had KJo and would have put money in the pot and George would also be a candidate to bet the hand as well. However, I didn't want to risk a free card to gutshots like QJ, JT or maybe hearts.
On the river, I checked to induce a bluff and George bet on cue. If I was wrong and George had a hand like 2 pair, then I would punish him with the check-raise for max value. However, he may not pay me off on that. It just so happened he hit his hidden out. I guess most people go bust on this hand. It shows me there may be value to thinking things through and maybe just calling.
Thanks for your thoughts.
