Default Re: the official \"Baronzeus attempts to win at poker\" thread

baron - i lazed over most of the thread, but in responce to your initial post, sorry if its been mentioned....

if you are comparing WtSD and W$SD for different periods of time it is very important to take into account APH (average players per hand), and adjust accordingly.

I think its very difficult to seperate luck from skill to any great extent using just those two numbers.

i'm with stox on this one.

these two stats sometimes aren't as related to 'running hot or cold' as others seem to make them out to imo.

as was pointed out before...you can lose a bunch of big pots...or you can take a bunch of little pots before you ever get to the river (they keep folding to your bets on turn or river)...and either/or will make a difference in these stats.

I also agree that running at break-even over 26k hands and calling that a 'long time' is somewhat humorous.

rest of the thread: I'm enjoying seeing these screen-shots of your guys' success. Blows me away really and makes one aware of what is out there in this game if they apply themselves.

Also makes one want to move up the limits REALLY fast ala Kurosh-style...but, alas, that method is probably not best for most players (including me) and is obviously kinda dangerous.
